Ashok Selvan’s Next Film Reportedly With Dada Director Ganesh K. Babu
Ashok Selvan’s next movie could bring him together with Dada director Ganesh K. Babu. The Tamil actor has signed a fresh project with the filmmaker, who is also associated with Ravi Mohan’s Karathey Babu. However, the reported collaboration has not yet been publicly confirmed by either the actor or the director. There is no official title or announcement poster at this stage.
The development follows Selvan’s October release, Anbil Avan. While the proposed actor-director pairing is an interesting possibility, the project remains a reported signing rather than a formally launched film.
What has been reported about Ashok Selvan’s next movie?
An industry tracker said Ashok Selvan would work with Ganesh K. Babu on his next film. He also suggested that Ganesh is finishing work on Karathey Babu. These details describe the reported plan, not a production-house statement.
Ganesh entered feature direction with Dada, the 2023 Tamil film starring Kavin and Aparna Das. The drama centered on a young man’s adjustment to fatherhood and helped establish Ganesh as a filmmaker interested in relationship-driven stories. The film was followed by an altogether different project, Karathey Babu, with Ravi Mohan in the lead.
The official teaser for Karathey Babu introduced a political setting, with Ravi Mohan portraying an MLA. Screen Scene Media Entertainment produced the film, with Sam C.S. composing the music.
What Ashok Selvan has been working on
Selvan’s recent release Anbil Avan opened in theatres on 2 October 2026. Directed by debutant R. Kaarthikeyan, it stars Ashok Selvan alongside Preity Mukhundhan. The film follows a couple who hope to build a new life together before an unexpected threat emerges.
Across his film choices, Selvan has worked in romance, comedy and thrillers, so the director attached to his next project is particularly relevant. Still, it is too early to describe the Ganesh film as a romance, thriller, or another genre without an official synopsis.
