Jailer 2 Crosses ₹710 Crore Worldwide, Surpasses 2.0’s Tamil Film Record

Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 has crossed the ₹700-crore mark worldwide and overtaken 2.0 in a widely followed ranking of Tamil cinema’s highest-grossing films. The Jailer 2 box office collection reached an estimated ₹710 crore globally by the end of Sunday, 25 October 2026, its eleventh day in theatres. That puts Nelson Dilipkumar’s sequel ahead of Shankar’s 2.0, which the same tracker recorded at approximately ₹ 691 crore lifetime.

The figures come from independent box-office tracking rather than a new audited statement from producer Sun Pictures. This distinction matters, especially when different trade sources quote different totals for individual territories.

Jailer 2 Box Office Collection After 11 Days

As of 25 October, estimated worldwide gross stood at ₹710 crore, comprising ₹466 crore from India and ₹243 crore from overseas markets. The film’s India nett collection was estimated at ₹398 crore. Gross and nett are different measures, so the domestic nett figure should not be added to the overseas gross to calculate the worldwide total.

The second Sunday brought in an estimated ₹25.70 crore nett in India across the film’s language versions, compared with ₹24.15 crore on Saturday. The Tamil version accounted for ₹17.35 crore of Sunday’s domestic nett earnings, while Telugu, Hindi and Kannada screenings contributed the balance.

Sun Pictures had earlier announced that the film had crossed ₹549 crore worldwide in its first seven days. That was the producer’s milestone announcement from earlier; the ₹710 crore figure is a subsequent trade estimate, not an updated, producer-certified collection.

How Rajinikanth’s Sequel Moved Past 2.0

The previous benchmark in worldwide Tamil-film ranking was approximately ₹691 crore for the 2018 science-fiction film 2.0, directed by Shankar and starring Rajinikanth alongside Akshay Kumar. Jailer 2 has surpassed that figure less than two weeks after opening on 15 October.

The new film brings Rajinikanth back as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, the character introduced in Jailer (2023). Nelson Dilipkumar returns as director, with Anirudh Ravichander composing the music and Sun Pictures backing the sequel. The ensemble includes Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu, S. J. Suryah and Vidya Balan.

The Tamil Nadu gross crosses ₹180 crore.

For more context on the series, CinemaRumble has covered the original Jailer’s box-office performance and the Jailer 2 movie review.

Sun Pictures’ latest official Jailer 2 promotional post continues the theatrical campaign but does not provide a new state-wise collection statement. The broader worldwide estimate is therefore kept separate from the disputed Tamil Nadu totals.

What Happens Next for Jailer 2?

The film remains in its theatrical run, and its final lifetime collection cannot yet be established. Upcoming daily estimates will show how much the worldwide total grows after the second weekend, but they may also be revised as more information arrives from exhibitors and distributors.

For now, the noteworthy development in the available trade data is that Jailer 2 has moved beyond the ₹700-crore worldwide mark and past the previous 2.0 benchmark. Any higher collection claim should be checked against its reporting date, territory, and whether it represents gross or net earnings.
