Kamal Haasan’s RKFI ₹350-Crore Rights Deal Reported for Three Films

Raaj Kamal Films International (RKFI), Kamal Haasan’s production banner, is at the center of a reported ₹350-crore agreement covering non-theatrical rights to three upcoming Tamil films. The Kamal Haasan OTT deal has been linked to JioHotstar, while satellite television and music rights have also been mentioned. However, the reported amount and the complete terms have not been publicly confirmed by the companies involved.

🎥 What Is Being Reported About the RKFI Rights Deal?

An update circulated on 27 October 2026 placed the package at ₹350 crore across digital, satellite and audio rights for three productions. Reports that appeared earlier in the week had already described a possible three-film arrangement with JioHotstar.

A key difference exists between the figures now circulating. One description treats ₹350 crore as the combined value of all three rights categories. Another estimate puts ₹350 crore against streaming and television rights alone, with a separate ₹63 crore suggested for music rights. These cannot be treated as the same confirmed total. Neither a final contract nor a film-wise financial breakdown has been made publicly available.

🎞️ Dharman, Seyon and Kamal Haasan’s Next Film

Three projects are being connected to the reported arrangement: Rajinikanth’s Dharman, Sivakarthikeyan’s Seyon, and a new Kamal Haasan film with director SU Arun Kumar. The films themselves have received production announcements, but their inclusion in the alleged rights package has not been formally confirmed.

Dharman stars Rajinikanth and is directed by Ashwath Marimuthu. Kamal Haasan is producing the film under RKFI, alongside R Mahendran, with Anirudh Ravichander composing its music. Shooting updates and cast announcements, including Nayanthara’s addition in October, have established the film’s progress. They do not, by themselves, confirm any digital or satellite-rights buyer.

Seyon brings Sivakarthikeyan back to the RKFI banner after Amaran. Directed by Sivakumar Murugesan, the film has music by Santhosh Narayanan and features Bhagyashri Borse. The production house officially introduced Seyon in February 2026 and has subsequently shared filming updates.

The third title is Kamal Haasan’s collaboration with SU Arun Kumar, which RKFI made public in September 2026. Some reports have referred to the project as Sandiyar, but that name has not been officially announced. Its proposed inclusion in the multi-film agreement is also yet to be confirmed.

💰 Why a Three-Film Digital Rights Package Matters

For a streaming platform, a package covering films led by Rajinikanth, Sivakarthikeyan and Kamal Haasan would represent a varied Tamil cinema slate. For a producer, early commitments involving digital, television and music rights may create more visibility around future revenue while the films move towards release.

However, a quoted rights valuation is not a measure of profit. Production expenses, territory restrictions, exclusivity, payment schedules and the individual value assigned to each film are all unknown. Describing the proposal as a record-setting deal would therefore be premature without verified terms and meaningful comparisons.

📅 What Has Yet to Be Confirmed?

JioHotstar is being named in reports concerning streaming rights, while Saregama has been mentioned in connection with audio rights. There is no publicly verified announcement confirming the complete proposed package, its precise value, or the rights held by each company.

For now, the ₹350-crore figure should be treated as a reported estimate. A formal announcement from RKFI or the prospective rights partners would establish whether the deal has been signed and exactly which films and rights it covers.
